Twilight Session about Managing Challenging Behaviours
On Thursday 22nd June 2023 our Managing Director, Eileen Rumble, led a Twilight Session at Mara Nursery about Managing Challenging Behaviours. It was a very informative session which many Parents attended. The key points discussed were:
What is behaviour and what challenges do we face
Nursery behaviour policy – what and why
How we help children to emotionally Regulate/the importance of parents
Techniques we can use?
STAR Behaviour record/Behaviour plan – Tracking the trigger
Heavy work – calm and focused
Using Co regulation to self-regulate
Helping children to cool down and stay calm.
Self-regulation as an early learning goal (assessed at the end of reception)
